My Houzz: A Riverside Cottage on a farm in rural Australia - For the Australian musician Will Burden and his wife, model-artist, Simone Viljoen, moving to the family farm was more than just a career change; it allowed their many passions, original style and creative talents to come together in a house built just for them.
In 09, the couple decided to flee the city, with Burden accept an offer to manage Woodside, 3000 acre cattle farm family in rural New South Wales, Australia. They built their new home on a river, Woodside Cottage, near main family property. Since then, the house and surrounding property hosted a wedding, two births, countless nights weekend with friends and, most recently, the mother of Mickey Viljoen, who had neglected his caravan home in time part.

The house has a simple rectangular plan. The front door opens onto a large living room with open-plan kitchen at the end. recycled wood floors run throughout the home and add warmth to the space, while wooden vaulted ceilings were painted white, with a light backdrop for vibrant mix of torque furniture and works Art. This row of large hanging lamps drum, Beacon Lighting, was an affordable and easy to install option for overhead lighting.

The laundry room is equipped with Ikea cabinets and unique custom backsplash. Viljoen took a picture of waste in a dumpster and interesting applied filters to the image, and then were digitally printed and placed behind glass.

Burden Viljoen and worked tirelessly for a year with the builder Steve Kuda to create a simple wooden house and corrugated and galvanized sheet. Objects Whenever possible, they used and recovered materials from across the firm to add rustic details industrial style.

old railway sleepers are used for retaining walls around the property. Gravel surrounding the house prevents the grass from growing near the structure. - A necessary precaution against snakes and venomous bushfires
What Mickey loves most about her Gypsy trailer is the incredible view it offers starry sky completely spared the city lights. Finally, Burden and Viljoen plan to build a separate barn on the property for Mickey to stay when she spends time extended to the farm.

Mickey is at its recently revamped caravan, a relic of the 1970s resuscitated a farm in Victoria. She recently retired and with the imminent arrival of a second grand-son, decided that moving to the farm would be a great change of pace.

Burden took most of the carpentry work himself, including the fixing of all cabinets and installing new vinyl end grain flooring.

Mickey stuck with a palette of blue and yellow colors on the inside and outside of duck egg to keep with the retro style of the caravan. The pillows were also covered with a black corduroy fabric from Spotlight; fittings are Ikea and Koskela
