Houzz Tour: A Town House London That 70s swapped 'for Scandi - Even before his remarkable metamorphosis, this fortysomething terrace had much to offer. Located in affluent Highgate, just steps away the splendor of Hampstead Heath, the location is hard to beat and the area was important. Its interior, however, barely touched since 1970, left a lot to be desired. So the new owner was quick to seek professional help to transform the space.

architect Thomas Griem had worked for the Norwegian owner before and happily took the challenge. "He was really in the 1970s, he said. "Nothing has been opened and the whole place was very dark. It was far from the idea of the owner of the house, which owes much to its roots Scandi. "She loves almost as white and really pushed for a minimalist look, Thomas said. Structurally, the inner walls have been removed to allow the light to move from the rear to the front of the terrace. The imposing staircase stocky, who joined the six half-storey was replaced by floating stairs and glass balustrade, and an angle to create a better connection between each floor.

In many ways, this is a classic minimalist interior, but the combination of matte white walls, white reflective stone and white oiled wood floor, and the collection of artwork from the owner says texture to the space and gives it personality. Six months in the planning and another six months in the execution, it is a project that has boosted the atmosphere both the property and its owner. "The owner was convinced he would be fine, says Thomas," but she was absolutely delighted with the end result. "
