Houzz Tour: At Home With ... Teri Muncey The Lovely drawer - Find a rental property in London can seem a challenge, but when Teri inner blogger and her husband were the search an apartment, she struck gold. "We were looking to move to the area, said Teri ', and this apartment was actually the only one we saw. Our other two reservations was canceled, and we have seen it and for that, all in the same day.
It takes serious work to get it in the form it is today, but Teri could see beyond the decor and ungrateful knew she could create something special. "A student lived here with just a mattress, a TV and a lot of dust," she recalls. "My husband was not too sure, but I saw a blank canvas with high ceilings and large windows. Finally, it was conquered by the flaps, so we made an offer that day. "

what you start blogging?
I started blogging four years ago as a small hobby on the side of my full-time design. It was actually invited by my husband, who said I should document all my small projects. Once I started, I could not stop.
He made me pushing me to try new things and improve my skills. I discovered a love for style and even began to have a lot of design work freelance thereof. This is what actually led to my own design company, so I'm really grateful for off-the-cuff suggestion from my husband. Now I am a mixture of both full-time and love it.

how long have you lived here and how did you meet and your apartment?
We lived in the apartment for three years now and has never regretted our hasty decision to move. you have to be so fast on the rental market in London that there was no hanging around.
I fell in love with the place immediately and my husband became more and more convinced that we started to do at home and put our stamp on it.

What was the food like when you moved into first?
It was a mess! On the positive side, however, there was a total blank canvas depending white walls and neutral carpeting. And a more massive was that there were a lot of built-in storage in smart places, so it does not need a lot of extra furniture, which would take up valuable space.

what makes you most happy at home?
The high ceilings. I honestly thought I would be so affected by something like this, but they make me feel as if there is room to breathe with a clear head, especially when working. Low ceilings tend to send me a little stir crazy.

What is your favorite place in the apartment, and why?
I like the couch by the bay window, it gets the most natural light throughout the apartment. You will often find me curled up with a book there in the morning or photographing blog posts on a white board propped on top.

Do you have a design rule that you live by?
Keep the general and simple white background, so you can customize with accessories. This way, when you are bored, it's easy to change things.
I can not paint my walls in our rented apartment, but I still want them to be white anyway. I think it's a big commitment to go to a color and not something I could do when I change my mind so often

what you like to do on Sunday afternoon?
Sunday afternoon is one of my favorite times of the week. I go to a local church and set aside the whole day to spend with my family church. We all live close together, so we usually have people for a long lunch after the morning service. Sometimes we know them and sometimes we do not do, but it's always fun.
An important factor when we were looking for an apartment was to have space for a dining table that seated six people, so we can accommodate many meals.

What is your key to a healthy and happy life?
I try to exercise frequently, eat well, get enough sleep, work hard without overwork and spend time with people. I'm not so good to overwork part, but I'm "working" on it!

What is your proudest DIY?
My biggest DIY pride was probably the hack of my Ikea bedside tables. They cost me £ 8 each in their original state. After several layers of wood varnish to tone down the light wood and adhering a white vinyl sheet on the underside of the glass, they have a totally different look.
I also painted the giant canvas on our living room wall in a spontaneous moment of messiness. It adds a burst of color to the room and works well in what was a large empty space

What do you think is the next big trend interiors and why?
I think he's going to be a change very minimal, the clean-cut lines of Scandinavian style with a slightly more eclectic and casual feeling. Also, after working our way through the metal 'on trend', I think that mixing together could go along with that.

what is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
Unfortunately, until recently, the first thing I did was check my phone, which was a bad habit. Now I try to be training right away or have breakfast (my favorite dish) and read.

is that you could not live without?
The Bible, that keeps me grounded in what is most important, and breakfast. No kidding, I'm looking forward to breakfast every morning. I do not know how so many people skip this meal!
I'm also not sure I could live without the ability to be creative in some form. It is so woven into all of me that I am very frustrated if I could not carry it. I could explode!
