The house Brewis is located in the small, idyllic Marielund village. This place at the lake is only about 70 other houses and was originally a summer vacation spot for the store owners in Uppsala. The unique fireplace is an old tiled stove - kakelugn in Swedish - as Cat and James were given by a neighbor and had refinished. stone bricks inside the stove are heated by fire and retain heat long enough to keep the house warm for the day. Cat and the first real home of James together was in Jakarta, Indonesia, much of their furniture is Indonesian. This magnificent buffet was made by one of the friends of the couple to Bali.

The bright and open dining room has a mix of textures and treatments for a warm effect. The cabinet in the corner is made of old pieces of oak of a Swedish battleship 18th century. The ship sank just outside the hometown of Cat, and many of these pieces of oak - blackened by salt water - were purchased by a local carpenter

with four boys, durability and storage were the most important priorities, but Cat also wanted a clean and simple design that could work with the architecture of the house.

When the family moved in, the house was still fitted with its original kitchen outdated. After a year of living with devices down, Cat renovated the lower floor of the house. Five years and two children later, the family ran out of the room and began another restructuring to extend the living space.

With inside the almost full house, Cat can not wait to start renovations on the expansive outdoor property. Possible future projects include a workshop, a play house, a garage and an apple orchard. She also hopes to build an outdoor patio double doors from the kitchen and converting an old barn into a guest room. And his boys would like a pool. "We are at the stage where our plans are still forming and dreams are under discussion, she said.
