Houzz Tour: A Blank Canvas Gets Cosy, Family Makeover - Transformer beautiful but quietly adult apartment in a space where a father and his three daughters could relax and spend time together was brief the interior designer Nicky Mudie for this three bedroom house overlooking Hyde Park. The apartment in The Lancasters, had recently undergone a luxury renovation, but the owner called Nicky to add the final touches that reflect his personality.

"The owner is often away on business, so he wanted to create a comfortable but fun space where he can relax with his children when he is in town," Nicky said. "Basically, it needed to be softened and made more suitable for children.

Nicky client allowed him free rein when it came to the design, but a whistle-stop tour kick around the Decorex design exhibition with it provided him with a little more insight into inside his taste. "We walked around the exhibition about an hour and I asked him to report anything that caught his attention," she says. "I then created mood boards based on my interpretation, and we went from there. Fortunately, it's very open to ideas.

The interior renovation took about eight months to complete, and treads the line between fun and sophisticated without compromising the integrity of either.
