For over ten years, they have tackled many projects with the constant goal of being the first and natural material. "These clients first came to us and asked us to rethink and renovate their new apartment, which was in very poor condition. Our offices are obviously the perfect showcase for our work. "The resulting design was bold and creative, and was the first time that the designers had taken such a project.

the family finally found their feet in this mixture of Haussmann style moldings and casings chipboard. Marc is a native of New York, and is the creator of Bob kitchen, Bob juice and Cold Press Bob. He is passionate about cooking and writes books and manages the website Grossman and his friends - a food blog that allows it to share ideas he first came with his family. Marc and Fabienne lived in Paris for some time, and with the birth of their first child, they decided to move to a house with more space. However, they still wanted to stay in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, where they had been before.

Like most classic Parisian apartments, the space is divided into smaller adjoining rooms. "One of the main requirements was to create an extra room for the family, which now need four bedrooms, say the designers. "This forced us to open space and give - quite immediately -. A contemporary spirit with our plans

MFP chipboard is used throughout the apartment. Nicolas and Claire are both environmentally and enjoy using material from sustainable forests and water based glue. It is compact and smooth, and offers a contemporary aesthetic that contrasts the more traditional aspects of Parisian apartments.

"another constraint was to find a suitable place in the living room to the piano of the family, which was fortunately modern and compact," said Claire. Their children are regular players and their parents wanted not isolated in their room while they were practicing. The designers have managed to create an adequate framework for the piano, which is transformed into an elegant console when closed. "The bench was to be two seats to accommodate the teacher and the student, or two players performing simultaneously. We designed and partially assembled there. The legs come from Small Productions, "he says.

a cabinet was removed between the kitchen and the living room to open the two spaces. the doorframe contrasts perfectly with the cabinet panels less modern particles, which also serves as a trap service. "This opening provides continuity between rooms, allowing light to run through and has a lovely view. Even with the numerous walls inside the apartment had beautiful proportions. We wanted to encourage discussion and interactions between spaces -. Essential in a family environment "

obviously, the food is of prime importance for Marc, who regularly prepares children meals there. He wanted something both practical and easy to live. "Corian is the ideal material. It is low maintenance, does not yellow and is perfect for custom work plans. The contrast between its smooth and textured to the touch of chipboard was a great feature for us, "says Claire. "The disturbances are important in our work, so we kept the rosettes and moldings in contrast with an uncluttered layout. A double door leads to the corridor, but the kitchen cabinets extend further than the door frame to give an interesting effect.

in the kitchen, chipboard needed a little work to make it waterproof. Although the panels are extremely easy to position and work with, they are not suitable for this type of use. A water-based varnish was used to protect all the different elements. For family meals, Marc and Fabienne were looking for a table that corresponded with the rest of the kitchen. Nicolas and Claire came up with the solution by designing a custom table with oak laminated layers black.

"We have a small woodworking shop next to our offices. From time to time, we make furniture. We are both designers and Nicolas, who is also a cabinet maker, turn our sketch into reality, "says Claire. "He also came with the design and production of the yogurt maker seen here on the work plan. It does not need electricity and only works using the natural isolation.

the wall lamps Tom Dixon hang well in the long corridor. "Here, as in the rest of the apartment, the wooden floors were once hidden under the carpet. They have now been restored, sanded and coated with a matte varnish water, "says Claire. "We chose matt varnish water because it is non-chemical and respects the natural characteristics of wood, a living material.

" our choice of colors for the master bedroom and the rest of the apartment was intuitive, "explain the designers. Fabienne and Marc first wanted white but they opened up (and enjoyed) our proposal of a range of colors after seeing our plans. This is the tricky part of our job - we need to understand the needs and desires of our customers, who sometimes struggle to express and define. With each project, we ask guests to give some cuts to express their style, then we come with an interior that is suitable for them. "

This room was quite small, but very long, and he needed to install a large wardrobe and a desk. creating a headboard that also has storage in it and can be extended to become an office, designers were able to fit it all in. Covering the back wall, the wardrobe is made of particleboard and matt lacquered wood. Slots were carved in different doors for easy opening.

with the bathroom, designers face another challenge. "The removal of the walls was not an option, but we needed to find a way to take a bath in this room. It is not for the youngest child, but Marc, who just like to take a relaxing bath, "says Claire. The sink was integrated into the bath unit, covered with ceramic tiles 5x5cm sandstone. A chipboard stool allows children to be at the right height and older to have easier access to the bathroom. Duravit bathtub is much higher than traditional baths, a smart idea for compact rooms.

room of the girl is the smallest and most necessary imagination and time. "It was a real headache. First, we need to claim part of the kitchen to make room for her. Then we had to work around the constraints of the various tubes, columns and cables that were in the way. Ultimately, while the rest of the apartment was ready for the family, this room was still far from over, says Claire. The space has been designed to leave room for a full sized bed in time, and designers have been able to also fit the shelves and storage in the room.
