Houzz Tour: A Scottish Cottage renovated with Vibe Scandi - When architects make their own homes, the end result is almost guaranteed to be an expression of carefully executed their own style. Such is the case with the house of Andrew and Kate Brown, the duo behind Brown + Brown Architects. When the couple bought a 150-year-old Scottish cottage there is a little more than two years, their main priorities were to bring light into dark rooms, and make the place more suitable for 21st century people. The cabin did not even have a clean kitchen or adapted bathroom, and the whole downstairs layout had to be changed to accommodate the new owners of the house.
'It was a really practical home, "says Andrew, but he and Kate' were looking for a Project" and they certainly got one. Ultimately, the entire renovation took about 10 months, with some key elements of the house, such as the original Esse oven and stove, preserved, while the rest of the house received a makeover Scandi decidedly airy.
