Houzz Tour: Opening meeting Intimacy in a dream home in Wisconsin - I can not help but hear the voice of my mother repeating a tidbit of wisdom of parents " good things come to those who wait. " Well, seeing how designer Dino Maniaci fell in love with his dream house 25 years before actually buy, let's just say that mothers can be very insightful.
Maniaci had liked the location and style of Wisconsin, home of the mid-century, but especially enjoyed its setting, away from the street, which gave him privacy in a relatively busy area . At the time, however, he could not afford his tough interior design challenges. The previous owner, who was in a wheelchair, had redesigned the plumbing and wiring and wide corridors created an ad hoc basis.
So instead of buying the house right then, Maniaci bought an apartment in East Madison and waited. And waited some more. Finally, when his dream home has come for a sale again there about a year, he and his partner Jason Hoke were able to snap up. At the moment, the house was pretty run down, so they began to redesign and contemporary expansion as expected.
