Houzz Tour: Vintage Style and simplicity in a Texan Farm - Joanna Gaines juggles career more than most people even dream. A designer, shop owner, renovator, developer and mother of four, it is also the cohost a television one-hour program called fixer upper. Oh, and she and her husband, Chip, has spent a year and a half remodeling their 19th century farm Texas.
'Our lives are hectic and crazy,' said Joanna, with Magnolia Homes. "For me, the house should serve as a retreat. The simpler, the better '
She did not even looking for a house when a customer suggested that the family Gaines could enjoy life at his farm in Crawford, Texas -. A Waco suburb best known as the ranch site of George W. Bush. The Gaineses drove out to see the 40-acre parcel and fell in love with the property. The house, however, was another matter. The Victorian farmhouse had an interior divided into small rooms -. None of them even big enough for their dining table
"There was no way it would fit our family of six, Joanna remembers saying to himself. "But I loved the character and charm of the house. So we decided to make it work. "
