Houzz Tour: Old Kiln Chicory is transformed into an architect House - Landscape Charles Anderson and his wife Tiziana Launech scoured Phillip Island in Australia for years in search of a traditional chicory kiln, they could turn into a unique holiday home. Chicory fours - once used for drying chicory dock, similar to parsnip root vegetable that grows in rich volcanic soil of the island - are a common architectural feature on Phillip Island. When they finally came to their future home on the beach in Ventnor, they asked the architect and friend Andrew Simpson to transform the historic building into a modern social pension. Charles and Andrew have collaborated to design to produce A home for Hermes , the own art exhibition named Charles showed the Tarrawarra Museum in 07.
