Houzz Tour: A Dark Lakeside Home Gets a Modern Makeover - This rustic dark house at the lake needed to alleviate. After several years of life with dark cherry cabinets and outdated wallpaper, the owners were eager for their summer home on Lake Wisconsin to reflect their own style. They spend most of June, July and August here every year, and they wanted to keep the rustic cabin keys at the lake, but put them together in a more modern way. Interior designer Lauren Piskula of [de] luxury design studio has fulfilled the brief with a mixture of materials like barn wood recovered, bright white cornicing and clean lines for a fresh and inviting summer retreat.
