Houzz Tour: Making More American family in a London apartment this incredibly fun - apartment on the ground floor of a Victorian school converted to Stoke Newington, north London, to originally composed of two large living rooms, a small kitchen and two bedrooms on the mezzanine, exposed to noise and light from below. With a baby on the way, the creative couple who own this place wanted to make it more family friendly. The interior decor has been very original, too, to reflect their personality, present their collections and express the great eclectic style they like.
Evros Agathou, creative director of inside counsel Sweets design studio, reconfigured the space to a large kitchen and living room downstairs and three bedrooms upstairs, which are closed off privacy and security. The very personal design features many vintage pieces of the couple, as well as furniture and upcycled original touches - lights made from colanders, anyone? "They all belong to the owner," says Evros. "It takes just off wearing them, and slide them back on later." The single rail is made from peg and hooks. Evros designed a hall to give the apartment a family atmosphere home, and prevent the piano sound game owners escape in public areas. "We papered the walls with pages of vintage magazines owners had collected over the years," says Evros. "They date around the second world war and have a nice sepia tone.
