Houzz Tour: A New London apartment building with warmth and personality - New build homes offer many advantages - well designed space, brand new fittings - but they may lack individuality. Thus, facing the blank slate that was this two bedroom apartment in a new development in Bermondsey, South London, the owners requested advice of the interior designer Clare Morton of Morton Studio.
"The overall challenge was to make the place feel cozy and give it its own identity," says Morton. "We wanted a cool place feel very fashionable as a reflection of this area of London. It is very industrial here, with lots of loft apartments and Victorian warehouses, so we wanted to bring some of this historical and design.

The design was built from there, with natural tones added to complete gray, a mixture of industrial furniture and midcentury-inspired pictures and bright yellow.

when asked Morton to design this apartment, the kitchen had been installed by developers. "It was quite lucky because they chose attractive, high-gloss cabinets in a beige color, which was a little different," says Morton. 'The mirror backsplash is made of smoked glass, so it is darker, "she adds. "It is a nice detail that helps create a sense of depth, too.
