My Houzz: Creative style in a Dutch House - According to Mirjam Vetter, everything looks better with a layer of paint with chalk. Vetter is an avid collector of used goods, and likes to transform objects everyday in small treasures. She searches flea markets, thrift stores and antique and art market near her home in Hoorn, the Netherlands, and in places like Lille, Berlin and Copenhagen, for objects that can turn to decorate his house three bedrooms.

Until recently, Vetter lived alone with his 7 year old son, Noah Joe. The arrival of her boyfriend, Bram Floris, had a significant impact on its interior styling and the choice of color palette. "It used to be a really feminine home with frills and lots of accessories vintage romantic said Vetter. Once Floris moved, she decided to change her accessories and add some brighter colors, like yellow cushions.
Noah Joe made his mark on the inside by foraging for industries such as fine examples left of the sofa. Vetter painted white with paint on Annie Sloan chalk (a matte craft paint developed for use on furniture) and decorate them with small pendants

Vetter displays a small group of postcards in the corner. She has a huge collection and participates in an international postcard exchange program called Postcrossing where foreigners send cards just for fun.

"When we moved into this house three years ago, he had the carpet everywhere, and the salmon pink walls, Vetter said. "I am completely edited for my taste."
Initially, she wanted everything to be white and gray, and had some of his furniture painted white. But with Noah Joe's encouragement, she decided to go with a mint green feature wall.

table folding is held in this configuration for most of the year, but can accommodate more family members or guests if necessary. Vetter has painted dining chairs white and yellow with paint in chalk. The small tray on the table is to find a flea market.

a beating in the main living area is a focal point wall strip covered in the pages of a vintage French newspaper. Vetter bought the paper at an antiques market in Lille, France.
