My Houzz: Uplifting colors and Vintage Finds Pad in The Hague Small - Industrial designer Aafke Kauffman loves scouring flea markets and vintage stores for treasures to take home and upcycle. In his eclectic house Netherlands, a backdrop of all white ensures that its second discovery at the center, while teal and yellow colors are paying casual, beach house atmosphere of inspiration that feels appropriate in this seaside section of The Hague.
'Because of all the different elements with different styles, I want to keep them clean and white spaces,' said Kauffman. His preference for white wood floor, walls and libraries means the space is clean and each member has a chance to shine.

"half my house is secondary," says Kauffman. "I love markets and secondhand shops look for unique pieces and I often change or remake articles I found.

A teal painted wall runs the entire length of the living room and dining room. "The color is quite dark, but there seems to be a good combination with all white in the rest of the house," says Kauffman. 'It's also nice contrast with the yellow of the sofa.'

Kauffman has breathed new life into his dining table vintage by sanding up and treatment with bright white paint. She voluntarily left sanded and untreated legs to give the room a raw aesthetic. Two shelves Ikea Expedit make a separation of practice and ensure storage room. Industrial blue cabinet is an old factory.

dining room chairs are an eclectic mix that includes two original Eames, two school chairs Friso Kramer inspired and contemporary framed chair thread. An oversize oval pendant by the Dutch company Moooi hangs above. "I really like the size of this lamp, because it really fills the space, says Kauffman. "I'm not sure how all the elements and eclectic colors blend so well together, but it seems to work. Perhaps because I keep the rest of the fairly empty room and tidy.

One step divides the lounges and dining room. "The raised floor is a feature where my house used to be a store," said Kauffman, shown here. "He has no specific function, but it looks quite nice. Kauffman kept all white walls, but designed the bird wallpaper itself to "keep the space from looking boring, she said. "The sparrows fly above the bed give the room a sense of calm," she explains. "The birds look so real, they even confuse my cat. He sometimes tries to catch them!.

Kauffman says she likes the way his house is two minutes walk from the beach and its boulevard with sea terraces. Scheveningen is a small village in the big city of The Hague. It has its own atmosphere and style, "she said. "People love to decorate their houses really kitsch, with lace curtains and crystal figurines lining the window. I love him, but not in my own home.
