My Houzz: A Creative Home Bursting with colors Dark and Gothic Glamour - 'I love the darkness, and I love dark interiors, said Fiona Ellis, and his home is a testament to the veracity of that statement. Draped in sumptuous fabrics, atmospheric dark shades and bright accessories, it is an amazing combination of curiosity cabinet, elegant Gothic mansion and the dream of punk rocker.
Fiona, who is co-owner of Brave Boutique, furniture and accessories boutique, is enthusiastic about the aesthetic elegance of the black interior. "I used black in all my houses, she said. "It highlights the art so well." Together with his partner, Scott Hendrie, who also heads Brave Boutique, Fiona has transformed her apartment in 1910 from a bland gray space into a lively and evocative home.

Fiona likes to use small panels of flashy wallpaper in some places to create a textured function, and and Scott decided to highlight the fireplace by adding faux crocodile wallpaper to the chimney. The various ornaments on the mantelpiece were collected during the couple's travels.

In the Room main, neon orange accents draw the eye of the key features. The wrought iron bed frame, which Fiona had for a long time, has been updated with vivid color. She bought under a purveyor of antique beds, and this one in particular was actually found on top of a house in Morocco.
