Houzz Tour: Sumptuous Sophistication in a spacious Manhattan loft - When the owner of the loft in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, first called the architect David Howell, his intentions were sand and finish its existing floors. By the time they were done, they had completely renovated the entire attic, leaving the customer with bug renovation and a new dependence on buying furniture and accessories.
"The renovations have taken much longer than my client originally planned, but he really enjoyed the process every step of the way," said Howell. "His routine Saturday is now going for a coffee and then wandering in the BDDW showroom, where he text me pictures of songs he loved -. I really enjoyed"
The customer favorite tracks made their way into the home, which now has new floors, raised ceilings to better accommodate its great height, a new air conditioning system and a completely redesigned layout.

Howell wanted the kitchen to be lighter than the floors but not white. So he chose the oak cabinets with custom spot that is somewhere in the middle. The handles provide strong, straight lines that honor the original warehouse loft elements and opulent feel of the overhaul.
Also to keep the kitchen light, high-level cupboards are not used all around. Howell grouped tall cupboards and refrigerator-freezer in the corner, freeing up space to allow the rear wall kitchen as open and light as possible. A simple cornice follows a line created by the hood. The back is the same as granite worktops, giving continuity and reflects light.

In dining room, an oval table BDDW breeze all rectangles. The chairs are vintage, and the client found the teardrop glass chandelier during a trip to Los Angeles.
The old fireplace was a very small corner unit. Howell expanded and covered the corner walls in a beautiful Chinese quartz to adapt the fireplace across the loft.

in front of the dining room, a silk carpet the customer purchased in the Far East sets the lounge area, and texture and palette colors bind textiles and metal parts together.

He created an oversized room that felt right to her great customer, including senior counters, a large bathtub and a high ceiling. both Howell and his customers hail from New Zealand and were familiar with the Sydney sandstone look seen here. 'These tiles are a porcelain version of Sydney sandstone, Howell said. The tile on the floor is a more abrasive version skid tiles on the walls. The range of single colors, gives a feeling of relaxation.
