it is interesting to watch the rear extension first, as it is unique. This side face east, bringing a lot of light through the ceiling windows leading to the kitchen and dining room on the first floor and the master bedroom upstairs. This addition, which makes the plan an L shape, includes a terraced area with steps down to a comfortable seating area and a fountain under the branches of a large tree.

Unlike the extension, which is glass and metal, the west-facing facade is stucco and wood with picture windows. Stucco covers new insulation layers on the outside of the existing walls, increasing the thermal mass of the house. This helps moderate indoor temperature, humidity and night ventilation, greatly reducing the need for air conditioning.

the side wall of the living room shows part of care on the part of architects to carry out certain aspects of the design throughout the house. The recess and horizontal orientation of the fireplace recalls the windows at the front of the house, for example.
Lots of storage space is hidden behind the richly detailed cherry cabinets around the recess.

in front of the fireplace, the staircase is carefully designed as a single structure below of wooden steps. The latter is a staircase that is to be seen behind a glass wall, not covered by a solid. The glass wall also means architects have maximized the width of the house; precious sight lines have been lost with the framing and the surfaces of a typical solid wall.
