Since Porowski is cook for business and pleasure, it was important to make the small kitchen a power plant.

'I love an exposed kitchen and I think appliances, knives and kitchen utensils are a thing of beauty, " Porowski said. "I would not mind a larger kitchen with maybe a vent for when I cook salmon but all in due time."

the terrarium seen here was made by [[1945002s'] father Krietemeyer. Succulents it held originally did not last long, so that the couple swapped their for a blue stone.

Krietemeyer channeled her childhood to make some of the rooms in their apartment, including the wooden bed frame (built around a basic Ikea) and the head.
"Growing up, I watched my father in his studio creating different rooms to our home, ' Krietemeyer said. "Now that I'm an adult, it was amazing to work with him on such projects. They act as reminders such wonderful memories we shared, and I get to enjoy them whenever I'm home.

other projects include a Krietemeyer wall unit made of pipe which acts as a separator. He also spotted the bedside tables in two different colors and brass handles found on eBay added.

Krietemeyer and Porowski use the console as a screen for unique finds, such as boxing gloves vintage and old photos of James Dean and Johnny Cash. It also keeps on the go items - such as leather jackets, Porowski favorite pair of Converse and a vintage Louis Vuitton weekender - accessible.

probably the softest touch to the house is a Pomeranian card, a gift Krietemeyer to Porowski hanging near a fig tree. The map is from the 10s, when Germany and Poland were a territory, and it has sentimental value for the couple because Krietemeyer "ancestry is German and Porowski is the son of Polish immigrants.

Krietemeyer like to leave books around the apartment that trigger memories of points in his life, as when he was living in his first apartment to Montreal.

"Joey an incredible eye for design, but I like to think I bring the nostalgia factor to space, " Porowski said. "Each piece has a purpose and a story that never gets old for me.
The monkey Kay Bojesen saw here was a gift from Krietemeyer to Porowski this past Christmas, and the bowl next to the brass lamp was carved by grandfather Porowski.

overall, the couple is to design their version of a sanctuary, with good materials and textures such as distressed black leather, polished brass and furs stuffed animals. And while they love the natural light of the apartment gets, they also appreciate the ability to change the lighting to suit their mood.
"I think we both enjoy their home after a long day's work to relax in our space, so low lighting is crucial," Krietemeyer said. "We installed dimmers on nearly all of our switches.

'It's sort of a gentlemen club-meets-treehouse - Sway us definitively towards masculine furniture, and I also love plants and pieces of natural wood, Krietemeyer said.
