Houzz Tour: A contemporary home in California with Midcentury style - In 08 the Santa Monica, California, worked with their owners architects to build a minimalist, modern home. Several years later, they still loved their custom home, but they thought it might be cozier and more touchable. They hired an interior design team to make their rooms to a new level hotter.

main bedroom received similar treatment, with an accent wall grass cloth, a highly textured carpet and striped throw on the bed "We believe that most rooms should be relaxing, David said. "We took this peaceful and classic room. We believe it is in progress, but it also has a timeless atmosphere.
One of the keys is the fabric of grass, a material David said gives the definition of the room and quietly melted. The striped textile jet and large rug, made of antique carpet pieces, give a bolder punch pattern. "Having a big stack is important when you want to make a room more comfortable," David said.
