My Houzz: Home and studio exudes creativity and personality - Artist Marie Van Elder An Artist has always been home part of his work. It is used as a studio, workshop and gallery. The walls are filled with work by her and her artist friends, and the largest room in the house is his studio space. The rooms have been rearranged the family has evolved, but art has always been part of every room. "In a way the art is part of the house as much as the house was part of the art, she said.
Daughters of Mary grew up around his art and "come to school and go running to see what I was doing that day," she said. And they sometimes work alongside it on their own projects. Although Mary uses a room primarily as a studio, she said: "Frankly the whole house was used for art: kitchen counters, terrace, garage for art classes for children, the attic storage and all the walls to the exhibition space. My daughters will tell you that the smell of linseed oil is the smell of the house.

a small kitchen, a bedroom and a laundry room used to sit in the back of the house. An overhaul opened three rooms in a large kitchen and inviting. The layout is unusual, but it allows a lot of workspace.

Room main was once the art studio of Mary, but she soon grew out of space. The cushions and knitted blankets were made by a family member.
