Houzz Tour: A Victorian terrace in Hackney Gets a Makeover - This eclectic Victorian terrace in East London was in poor cosmetic condition when it was purchased by its current owners in 08. They were attracted by its central location and original, the three-story layout, and saw great potential despite its shabby appearance. "It has not really been touched for 30 years," recalls interior designer Inga Kopala. "He looked very unloved air when I was asked to help."

After using most of their property purchase resources the owners have adopted a gradual approach to renovation, starting with the kitchen and dining room in the basement, before going to the bathroom and bedrooms on the upper floor, and finally the living room on the ground floor. As the house was habitable - but not yet in its final form -. owners have lived there throughout the refurbishment, which took about four years to complete, with breaks in between

"We finally finished in 2012, 'said Inga . "The owners have a great eye for design and have already amassed a large collection of accessories and artwork they wanted to incorporate. Essentially, they wanted me to create a context in which they could view at best. "

The eclectic system offers vivid color schemes, which sit alongside a mix of high street furniture and design, as well as original Victorian features - such as cornicing and fireplaces - that reference the rich heritage of the property.
