When they bought the house, it was old and needed to be gutted and renovated. Because it is in a historic village, they are not allowed to change the outside.

Reiko joined the project just after the architect Philip Duffy has completed its plans, and added some features to support the principles of feng shui. For example, she moved the door on a bit and changed the momentum it has not aligned with the stairs. In feng shui, aligning the two features means the money goes down the stairs and the door.
In addition, the house did not have a room (the family was not allowed to build to create one), so that Gomez has created a sense of. She added some thin closets between the door and the living room and added this small console table. "Having a place to land is important, she said. The small console table fits into the tiny space and provides a place to drop off the keys.

"The woodwork and architecture are faithful to the history of the house, but art, fabrics and bright colors are all about them." For example, the great artwork on the back wall of the formal dining room is SupaKitch a French street artist who lives in New York City.

The seashell lamp, candlesticks jade and marble around the fireplace bring the earth element in this room. The floors throughout the house are Siberian white oak; in the living room, they are arranged in a herringbone pattern.

Gomez made some small but significant tweaks to the plans of the master bedroom. "Originally, the bed was placed under a window, which can lead to sleep deprivation, she said.
