Houzz Tour: Eclectic Art and Interiors Punchy Revive a London designer Interior Home - Megan Oliver and creative director Ed Godrich of Interiors Godrich had a challenge on their hands when they took on the renovation of this three-story house London.
"The house was in a pretty awful state when the owners bought," Megan said. "It was amazing garden which he sold to them, but the house itself was shabby and very dark inside. The challenge was to turn it into a beautiful home that incorporate eclectic art collection of the owners, but also be resistant to wear and to cope with family life day to day. "
At the time of construction, the couple had two young children and wanted to create an inspiring environment for them to grow in. Nearly two years, a new basement and an extension later, Megan reminds owners were "blown away" when they finally moved into their new home. "When they saw they were lost for words, she said. "It was an incredible moment."

"We kept the whole house eclectic style - we wanted the owners to add over time, so it is a constantly evolving space." The fireplace is an original feature, but it had been covered, while Megan stripped revarnished back and with a matte finish for a stylish and contemporary look. It comes from the playful pendant lights Rothschild & Bickers, and the cabinet is Danish vintage. The walls are painted in Farrow & Ball Plummett. paneling wood traditional accessories create a formal atmosphere in the hall. "Owners like paneling, so we wanted to incorporate somewhere, and the hall seemed to be the perfect place," says Megan. "The original fireplace was stripped back and polished so it has an unfinished look, which we echoed in the windows - we painted in a flat varnish in order not to have a glossy finish. It gives this formal space with a contemporary edge, "she said. 1960 Italian pendant light was bought in a vintage shop and cushions are by Fine Cell Work, a charity that pays well and teaches sewing to prisoners.

I find these basins in a reclamation yard and had restored them, "said Megan. "They are absolutely stunning, so we decided to base the system in the room around them. We opted for dark walls as they would have been lost in a white background and we wanted them to really come out. We also customized the 1960s, Italian mirrors with a medicine cabinet built on the back, so they are beautiful, but also useful! "Said Megan. The walls are painted in Farrow & Ball Blue Hague.
