Suzanne decided to paint the wood floors to create a chalet atmosphere. She and Adam lived in England for two years as newlyweds, and Suzanne remembered seeing this style floor there. "He really changed all feeling of home and did everything feel much lighter, she said.

one of the greatest challenges facing the couple lived in Melbourne during the renovation period. An hour and a half, if something went wrong and a quick decision had to be done, the couple would have to drive straight down. "However, we were very pleased with the manufacturer and merchants we had," says Suzanne. "They understood our vision and worked very hard to achieve it for us, even when we were not there."
So they hired professional for most of the renovation, the couple painted interiors themselves. Suzanne said this was a bit false economy looking back as it took much longer than expected

Grace and Tom share a room. While some parents may struggle with decorating with color and a non-gender specific furniture, Suzanne realized with ease. Using neutral backdrops, she was able to add fun touches of color to make it fresh and interesting.

when the family is not using the house as an escape, they rent to guests who want to try their own little slice of country life.

When it came to renovating the bathrooms, it was important to the family that the design of each was functional and timeless. The two bathrooms were originally wooden floor, which led to a bit of water damage under the boards. They replaced them with dark tiles and added a stone bath as Suzanne says that "the relaxation was a major feature of the house.

what Suzanne is most proud of this project is the feeling it gives to visitors. "As soon as we walk in, we feel like at home, she said. 'I love the way it looks, but it also feels very relaxed for me, somewhere people feel instantly at ease. "
