"The first level was originally an apartment in a very bad condition. Then, before the birth of their first child, the couple had the opportunity to buy two apartments on the upper floor. They managed to create a big house by merging the three apartments, "says interior designer Alexandra Magne.

To create a sense of unity among the three apartments, everything needed to be pulled down and re-designed. "The first level to the fourth floor was opened as much as possible to create a large living room with a dining room, open kitchen and living area. There is also the lobby and a master suite on this floor. Upstairs, two bedrooms for children, a study, a bathroom and another loo, "says Alexandra. It was a very big project, and the work of the designer has been characterized by a mixture of styles, materials, colors and patterns to create a harmonious home.

kitchen is U-shaped and connects the dining room to the living room. Two symmetrical pawns run either side of the kitchen. "We just used white Ikea items come with a custom layout," says Alexandra. The result is proof that one can achieve excellent results on a budget.

"They are made of a thin metal sheet, which runs from one level to another, says Alexandra. The grids are plain steel and glass. The glass stops the stairs to overload the room. An aged oak floor through the lower level, and offers a chic and elegant contrast to the coldness of the metal.

The living space has two ceiling heights. Alexandra chose a mix of styles and influences, combining industrial with Scandinavian style.

In same room, a large dark gray painted wall echoes the industrial feel of the stairs. "I wanted a strong but neutral color, to allow more bold decoration of choice," says Alexandra.

Two mustard armchairs that Alexandra has found a market, bring color to the space. They are accented with a selection of graphic cushions.

at the center of the living room, a Berber carpet softens the industrial sense and adds warmth to the room. "My goal was to mix different styles and materials, this is what I want in my work. This metal was found by Alexandra buffet at a flea market. To echo a metal framed mirror hangs on the wall above. Finally, a metal table lamp, with two elements in black and brass, echoes the theme "Classic 1950!" Says the designer.

'The office is a former post office building and was discovered during a sale organized by Emmaus, "says Alexandra. She added a metal desk lamp, which highlights the industrial look of the space, such as metal lockers. "It's important for me to mix different styles and backgrounds to breathe life into an apartment, says the designer. When visitors look, they can enjoy the original wooden beams, which have been restored to "strengthen the welcoming spirit of the apartment," said Alexandra.

The eldest son his room is simple with a touch of industrial style, with gray walls and metal storage units. 'I also found these small shelves to showcase his toys, says Alexandra. It can now proudly display their finest pieces.

The second room is shared by the two youngest children. "The challenge was to find the right balance to allow a little girl and a little boy to live together," says Alexandra. For the girl, the designer went for a metal bed, painted white for a feminine touch and a beautiful set of vintage kitchen. For the baby, the bed is wrought iron, with playful lights of La Case de cousin Paul nearby.

"I went to a pigeon blue wall on one side, and a very light gray in the rest of the room, said Alexandra. The Blue recess above the bed of the girl was decorated with small gold stars and an antique mirror, to highlight the feminine side of the room. The polar bear trophy shares space with a small lamp in the shape of cute white rabbit, a true classic of childhood.
