There is even a sense of family history to foot - the floors are made of recycled bricks from the ranch house of the grandmother of the owner who sat on the site. Houzz Tour: A period apartment in west London Gets a Makeover Creative - You might think that inside, a majestic stucco-fronted terrace filled with period details would be a game child design. But when the owners bought the four-bedroom property in West London, which was built the year before Queen Victoria on the throne, it was difficult to see how the tiny dark rooms, on several floors, could become a sophisticated and elegant family home. And this without forgetting the building and planning of difficult constraints that came with the project, which is part of a Grade II listed terrace.

"When customers bought the building, it was in bad shape," recalls Jennifer Creighton Hub Architects. "The apartment was" boxy "and converted into a series of pokey rooms with poor light and movement. They wanted a robust family home, elegant and spacious.
