My Houzz: A bright and Characterful bedroom Flat - John Sorensen-Jolink focuses all his creative energy on contemporary dance and choreography before starting his Brooklyn, New York, furniture design studio , Coil + drift. His line of contemporary, handcrafted furniture explores space and movement.
As creative director, Sorensen-Jolink uses his home to present popular pieces of his studio and as a way to see how they interact with the other components in his apartment. He considers his home a testing ground to find the elements that create a harmonious and peaceful space, far from the busy streets of New York.

"When my partner and I are at home, we both treat space as a place to relax and recharge," says Sorensen-Jolink. "It is important for space not to create its own stress, but to function as a place to expire at the end of each day.

Apartment opens into the living room bathed in light, overlooking a shared garden with neighbors.
'My partner and I had a month to find a new apartment after our owner decided to sell the building. We stumbled upon this apartment in the garden, owned by friends, and signed the lease as soon as possible, "says Sorensen-Jolink.
