Houzz Tour: Ideas Design of a teenage retreat Vibrant Venice Beach - The same talented team of designers behind incredible rooms to tour Good Shepard Charity open-house project have now offered their services to create a happy retirement for homeless teens in Venice Beach, California.
With Vanessa De Vargas acting as project manager and chief designer, the vision of a bright and contemporary self at home has become a reality.

Venice Beach is home to hundreds of runaway teens . Retirement, just off the promenade, aims to provide a shelter to help them restore their lives. Materials, appliances, furniture and accessories were donated by companies such as Flor, CB2, Blu Dot, Hygge & West, EKLA Home, Cliff Spencer, midcenturyLA, Henry Road, Zia Priven, The Sofa Company and more .

reception area designed by Typhanie Peterson, is the first sign that you have reached a welcoming and vibrant place. The geometric wallpaper declares that space has youthful energy, and blues reference to the nearby beach. Keep the white reception furniture, light and unfussy brand for a less intimidating meeting for teenagers.

another to the reception area of the computer area shows that it is divided by a low wall from the rest of the open floor plan, but the visual connection is always there, which required a coherent vision of the designers of style, colors and geometry.

Zone computer was created from the open space and was designed by Kelly Edwards. This is an office area for teens to connect online with family members and friends and reassure them that they are OK. The simple home office gets a desk lamps energy jolt and chairs teal black Pantone. The great abstract wall art above the desk is an inexpensive way to recreate at home, and the links in the color schemes of different designers in the great room with high ceilings.

Vargas used the design of the living room to set the tone for the rest of the areas in the building. A retro-modern look infused with turquoise and pink accents seem discordant, but under his leadership, it is pleasing to the eye.

Note the use of Vargas half-painted pink walls to add low height modular sofa. She also framed artwork hanging low from the ceiling height. These two decisions provide privacy to the living room which is difficult to achieve in an open space with high ceilings and lots of white walls

Vargas is also able to give antique furniture a new lease of life thanks to the good stuff and accessories. President and Buffet used to the living room may have been overlooked by other designers, but when you work for free, you take what you can get and make it work.

At back of the long rectangular space is the kitchen. A three-week period would have frightened many other designers, but Charmean Neithart do not hesitate to take up the challenge. The key was to keep the cabinets, countertops and appliances as simple as possible and have fun with the backsplash of glass tiles and wallpaper. Note that the same, the gray-green and blue "Beachy" seen in the reception area are reflected in the backsplash tiles and carpet.

a key yellow through the retro style table and chairs for the kitchen-dining room is a pleasant surprise and an eye-popping contrast with the gray, blue and green.

On the stairs to the mezzanine level is an unusual use of the wallpaper.

summit of the stairs is another living space, a little more private, designed by Winston Carney. The pink color of the bottom is achieved through painted neon pink support beams.

This space mezzanine sits under skylights and at the entrance desk. It offers a relaxed atmosphere; good conversation can flow to the picnic table where neon pink cushions lighten the mood. Another great idea that you can see in the background :. Cheap sliding cabinet doors were reorganized and covered with wallpaper for an elegant look

the serenity of this office space, which is by Mollie Ranize introduced storage solutions of the invention. Again, we see half of the painted wall, but this time with a twist: The lemon yellow paint is installed on the top half. wooden crates used as floating storage above the sofa. Their painted black interiors present the contrast objects within.

More wooden boxes are stacked to an ad hoc library. Paint the interior of the boxes of a range of different shades concerns brightly down and Missoni-like cushions nearby. This is a fun and inexpensive way to dress up the coffers every day.

since the bathroom is enclosed and separated from other open spaces, it took on its own personality and went glam Regency with a design by Marilynn Taylor. Note how the yellow and gray in the kitchen downstairs is linked here, but with a very different look.
