Houzz Tour: A New York City Flat filled with illustrations and keys retro - Instant architect Luca Andrisani saw its wall of windows and views of lush green trees beyond it made an offer on his future home in the kitchen area of the hell of Manhattan. Then he developed a plan: bring down the wall separating the living room from the dining room to improve the views and draw in additional light. In doing so, he created an ideal showroom to its growing collection of art, photography and vintage midcentury furniture.

Andrisani the affinity for vintage midcentury furniture is very much in evidence. In the living room, sofa and two armchairs Milo Baughman combined with a chair for an elegant look, because of their low profile and chrome accents. The two rear barrel chairs are covered with a plaid wool to add texture to the space neutral tones.

Because the kitchen opens directly onto the living area, Andrisani wanted it to blend into the background as much as possible. Most white lacquered cabinets are without handle to cut down on the visible material, and the dishwasher and refrigerator are hidden behind panels.

Andrisani used a computer program to design the model for the backsplash. The tiles were then numbered on the back and glued together off site before being installed in the kitchen. "It would have been much more difficult to create that model without the help of technology, said Andrisani.

Positioned against the staircase leading to the master bedroom and guests, a buffet believed Mexico has a complex pattern carved at its base and a thin border of white lacquer on all sides. It is topped with Murano glass lamps, Italy, and ceramic bottle collection gold leaf that the designer has chosen because of their appearance slightly melted.

bedside table is made from a mixture of white lacquer and wood, while the silhouette of the tripod table lamp is similar to model [surlesportes . "I did not notice the similarities until I put the lamp on the table. It was one of those happy coincidences, " Andrisani said.
