Frag first impressions of the apartment 1930 brick building that would come to call home was not very positive. There is a little unpleasant from the outside and dark and cavernous stair, he said. 'He did not give further on the first appearance, for sure. "
Opening the front door, however, he could immediately see the potential of the non-renovated apartment. A key feature stand out: it is circular, so there are no corridors, no dead space. "No matter where you are, you have a look at other rooms - you do feel as if you are walking in a dead or trapped, says Frag.
The apartment also overlooked Centennial Park and had lots of natural light flooding. My intention was to buy what I could not change - the light and appearance, 'he said.
Swedish summer houses are generally calm and relaxed, with lots of natural light. Color and reduced Frag helped pallet material create a similar look here. not chop and change colors and too much between rooms materials also means the apartment feels much bigger than its 80 square meters. "You do not get a new history with every step," says Frag. The furnishings are simple and sleek back, not screaming for attention; which creates a calm and let the light do much work. "

Frag removed the linoleum and carpet and painted the apartment white beneath the floorboards. He also painted walls and white ceilings, but with the added warmth of recycled wood beams that came out of an old bridge. The beams were oiled before installation. In addition to adding heat to the palette of all white, Frag said he wanted beams to give a sense of rhythm and continuity at home, while allowing each room to have its own voice and distinctiveness to prevent blur into nothingness.
T here is such a thing as too open plan - all is lost and you ask the furniture to hang all together; sometimes it is a big ask. In the kitchen, large slabs old French oak form the work plans.

While the beams provide a warm aesthetic, Frag warm interior even further with baltic pine paneling on the walls. "The warmth and texture by entering these details means that I could go completely white on the walls and the floor, he said. "Otherwise, he would look lost and empty and baseless and would lack a bit of soul.
Although some people recoil in white paint flooring, Frag said they watch "as beautiful" three years. I used Berger paint paving - it is absolutely bulletproof, he said. "We have a no-shoe policy, so that it helps, but it was not precious with the ground by any stretch of the imagination; it's hard as nails and maintains its brightness.

AFTER: the renovated master bedroom is fresh and inviting. Frag opted for a true white paint hue without any kind on the walls, ceiling and floors. Although the flat paint is generally used on the ceiling, he decided to use also on the walls. Matt paint is three percent brilliant, but the flat paint contains no bright at all and is not recommended for walls, because it marks easily. But Frag like the effect of the use of flat paint on the walls.
"The walls look like they go on forever because you are not getting any reflection back; there is a silky, silky softness to them. "
If the walls do not get marked? You just wipe away the marks or throw some more painting - it is so forgiving; it is quite reckless.
