My Houzz: Classic Victorian House Gets a light and airy redesign - Dadswell When Beth and her family moved into a Victorian semi in West Dulwich, southeast London, in 2011, they were happy to live in a historic building again. They had left behind a renovated farmhouse in 1960 and, despite its lightness, Beth said, "He made us yearn for period features.

Beth was looking for something to add some bright color in the living room before neutral when it came through this world map and decided that it would provide just the catchy detail she wanted. "It is the perfect size for the room, she said.

"We took the wall between the kitchen and dining room, said Beth, who made the dining room much lighter. He also gave the guests a view of the garden, also helped by new folding doors. The second room bath was strangely configured. "There was a shower in the middle of the room, like a throne, 'Beth laughed. Beth painted the walls of the guest room at Hardwick white, then added accents with colorful pieces of furniture. 'The turquoise chair was a sample sale Margaret Howell,' Beth said. In a happy coincidence, his turquoise floor lamp happened to match the color of the chair. "It was me trying to inject a little color in the gray, she said.

the unique design of the bed has a great backstory. Beth had bought the bed of a junk store, but it was covered in "this really disgusting blue cloth", then it dyed black. One day her mischievous cat decided to turn the frame in a scratch card. Beth ripped the damaged tissue with the intention of stuff, only to realize the black dye made a unique mark on the banner below. She decided she liked the resulting appearance, and kept the bed in memory of his creative kitty. "She made me a favor, 'she laughs.

The tree trunk stools were originally supposed to serve a different purpose. Builder Beth was cutting a tree and was offered the trunk as firewood. But instead of burning the pieces, the couple decided to use them as a weird corner.
This secluded location was immediately claimed by the son of Beth. "He'll have his tea here, she said. It is also the ideal place for him - and the rest of the family - to go out with friends.
