Houzz Tour: A bright and Conversion Jolie Grange California - DIY blogger and manufacturer Forkner Bonnie and her husband consider it a minor miracle that they found their bright cottage nestled in the mountains of Santa Ynez, California. The house, a converted barn that once sheltered the animals saved from the property overlooking the beautiful vineyards and mountains - in a region which at first seemed far beyond their budget. But by luck and magic of the Internet, the couple found their dream home barn overlooking the sunsets breathtaking, hills and lush vineyards.
"We have lots of windows; a garden for our dog, toaster; and a place in the garden, said Forkner. "To say that we are lucky is an understatement."

No one to keep the inspiration too far, Forkner strategically placed reading corner near his office. The area brings together the different textures of the shag carpet, pink jet, woven basket and the quilted pillow cover. Despite eclectic mix of decor, nothing overwhelmed or feels out of place.

a square opening connects the dining table in the larder and dedicated cooking area. Forkner and her husband are vegetarians and often eat food from their garden.

A door connects the great room to the master bedroom. "I carved a little sewing corner for myself here, said Forkner, who writes about all things crafty, inspiring, homegrown and organic to his blog, Going Home to Roost.

Forkner reoriented a silver tray and drawer in an open shelving unit with a printed paper return. A craft manufacturer, it builds most of its home decor with recovered findings; it also supports other makers and artists writing about their work.
