If you can not decide between open and individual rooms in your own home, this apartment shows how the sliding doors can be an ingenious compromise. Nestled behind the sofa, they hide or reveal a study area with a sofa bed if needed. "Sliding pocket doors use a very smooth tracking system in line with the ground," says Koball. "The doors fold fully to allow a smooth transition into the office space.
